Server logs
Like any website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information for every visit — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — mainly for security and to keep the server running smoothly.
A plain-language explanation of what information this site collects, why, and what say you have over it. Last updated 4 October 2026.
This site is built on WordPress and does not run its own analytics or advertising code. That said, a few categories of data can still be involved in visiting or using the site:
Like any website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information for every visit — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — mainly for security and to keep the server running smoothly.
WordPress itself only sets a cookie if you log in or leave a comment — neither applies here, since this site has no accounts or comments. Your hosting or caching layer may set its own short-lived, strictly necessary cookie to keep pages loading quickly; these expire automatically and aren't used for tracking. The one thing this site does store in your browser is the choice you make on the cookie notice (accept or decline) — that's kept in local storage, not a cookie, lasts until you clear your browser data, and is never sent to our server or anyone else.
Your quiz answers and score are calculated in your browser using JavaScript. They are never sent to or stored on our server — refreshing the page clears them completely.
Fonts. The Playfair Display and DM Sans typefaces used throughout this site are hosted on our own server rather than loaded from a third party, so visiting this site doesn't send a request to Google or anyone else just to display text.
Hosting & caching. This site is hosted on standard WordPress hosting infrastructure, which may include a server-side caching layer to speed up page delivery. Caching stores copies of already-public page content — it does not collect personal information about you.
Images. Photography on this site was originally sourced from Unsplash, a stock photography service, but every image is hosted on our own server — no page on this site loads images from Unsplash directly.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings — doing so won't stop you from reading any chapter of this guide, since nothing here is gated behind an account. If you'd like to know more about what a specific plugin or service on this site does with data, the contact details below are the fastest way to ask.
Brew & Note is a general-audience educational resource and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the site has no sign-up form through which anyone could submit their details in the first place.
